So many ways not to be here:
text me, phone me, send me a selfie,
appear in my room (over Zoom).
Is your hand cold? What shows
in your eyes? Do you quiver or glow,
are we one, or two?
I want to feel that stillness fall
when you enter the room,
the waft of you rich with vibrations –
myriad signs that being together
is sharing space, content inside
each others’ aura, the palpable presence
of Presence.
Together is being here,
anything less, a cold footprint.
